It is already well-known that one can unlock the fourth core of a triple core AMD Phenom II CPU. But during a test of the current ASRock A790GXH/128M motherboard at ocinside.de it was possible to unlock much more than this and that is no April joke. The AMD Phenom II 710 X3 CPU became an Engineering Sample with four CPU cores, unlocked Vcore selection and unlocked multiplier! All necessary BIOS settings for this mod are described in the following AMD Phenom II CPU unlock guide.
Start the PC with original CPU settings and without any overclocking after the CPU installation. The start page of the ASRock A790GXH/128M motherboard BIOS shows the AMD Phenom II 710 HDX710WFK3DGI processor with three cores. The AMD Phenom II 710 processor is clocked by default per CPU core with 2600 MHz, total 384KB L1 cache, total 1536KB L2 cache and shared 6144KB L3 cache size. OCInside
