Battlefield 3 Beta Performance Benchmarks
Many games are released every year but very few get to compete for the venerable "game of the year" title. Even before a specific title is released, the hype built up is tremendous and gamers often know which ones will most likely win the crown. In 2011, two titles coming out in the fall are vying for this title. Both are modern warfare based first person shooters that have a massive fan base but have taken a different approach when it comes to their respective core game engine. While Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare 3 will use relatively the same IW engine as it has in their previous titles, DICE's Battlefield 3 will make use of the next generation Frostbite 2 engine, which features unique DirectX11 technologies, a refined physics processing and a new type of character animation technology.
A new game engine, of course, means that consumers will be concerned whether their system is capable of running Battlefield 3. The minimum system requirements listed on the Battlefield 3 blog are reasonable enough, needing only a 2GHz dual core, 2GB RAM and a DX10 compatible video card with 512M of RAM, but... HiTechLegion
