LEVEL8 Products Macbook Air Sleeve
Featured Reviews: Notebook | Compact PC

While high-end motherboards, video cars, and SSDs are exciting to test and read about, we sometimes overlook the more prosaic products that we actually use day-to-day. A laptop sleeve doesn't have the geek appeal of a Z68 motherboard or fancy new CPU, but if you're going to carry your laptop around with you, you're going to need a sleeve or case of some sort. There are dozens of companies marketing laptop cases and sleeves, but LEVEL 8 Products thinks they've got a standout product with their MacBook Air sleeves, and Benchmark Reviews takes a little time off from slaving over a hot CPU to see how this product works.

Acer Iconia 6120 Dual-Screen Laptop
Featured Reviews: Notebook | Compact PC

We've seen little innovation in laptop design in the last few years. Most companies seem to think that using a brushed aluminum finish or adding Intel's latest mobile CPU is all they need to do to freshen a product line. Still, Acer's not the first company to introduce a laptop with dual screens; the short-lived Toshiba Libretto W100 comes to mind, and gScreen Corporation's Spacebook has been touted since 2009, although it's still not available at the time of this writing. The Acer Iconia 6120, though, is a computer you can buy right now. Its dual screens offer new capabilities but come with some drawbacks as well. Benchmark Reviews takes a look at this unique laptop to see if it's worth your consideration.

Cloud computing has been the big word for the last two years, and has quickly become a part of everyone's daily lives. Photos going up on the web to be edited, music and video being streamed, and documents stored online are becoming the norm. Google's CR-48 Chrome Notebook running the Chrome OS is a culmination of all of these. It provides no local services and allows users to only use internet accessible services. Benchmark Reviews will investigate to see if the CR-48 is really the future of computing or if it just is an interesting idea that will fade away like many other products that have been touted as "the future of computing."
